New Recovery Act Guidance Ramps Up Reporting Enforcement
Washington, May 5 – New recipients of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grant funds will be contacted by their grantor agency before the start of the reporting cycle to warn them about their reporting obligations. This is one of several steps the Office of Management and Budget outlined in a recent memo to federal agencies to address President Obama’s April directive for federal agencies to take necessary steps to combat noncompliance with Recovery Act reporting.
Will Recovery Act Requirements Soon Be the Norm for All Grants?
Washington, May 3 – Late last year, the former head of the federal Grants Policy Committee speculated that the increased reporting and oversight of grants under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act would eventually apply to all grants in about two years. Now, he expects these changes even sooner.
Miller Turns Up Heat on Jobs Bill
Washington, April 27 – Although available funding from last year’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is winding down, state and local governments continue to feel the pinch of a poor economy. A key House Democrat has offered a $100 billion plan designed to help save and create jobs in the public and nonprofit sectors but it hasn’t seen much action yet on Capitol Hill. Support for the measure, however, is growing at the local level, particularly in light of some new statistics released last week.

Washington, April 26 – The Grants.gov Web site is now able to handle all of the grants application functions for all agency grant programs.
ETA Announces Availability of $90M in Recovery Act Emergency Grants
Washington, April 19 – The Employment and Training Administration is inviting state and tribal governments to apply for a share of $90 million provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to help dislocated workers cope with the effects of the recession.
