Recovery Act Transportation Projects Reach Milestone

Washington, Nov. 30 – The Department of Transportation reached an important milestone in November when it announced that grantees have obligated funds for more than 10,000 transportation projects funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Overall, $48.1 billion in funding has been made available for highway, road, transit, bridge and airport construction and repairs. A total of 6,547 projects are underway, and $30.6 billion has been obligated to 10,041 approved projects.
