House Passes Conference Report on Party Line Vote
Minutes ago, the House of Representatives passed the economic stimulus conference report by a vote of 246-183. As was the case with H.R.1, no Republicans supported the measure.
The Senate is expected to vote on the conference report late this evening, despite GOP senators' threat to delay the proceedings by reading the entire 1,000-page bill on the Senate floor in its entirety. Assuming Senate passage, the bill will then be ready for President Obama's signature.
