HHS Receives $2.3 Billion in Recovery Funds for Child Care, Vaccines to America’s Families

Washington, April 14 – The Department of Health and Human Services is set to receive $2.3 billion in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds to provide child care services and vaccinations for working families. The funds will enable states to issue vouchers for child care or provide them with funds to provide access through contracts with child care centers.

“Parents are worried about finding a job or keeping the job they have and they shouldn’t have to worry about affording quality child care,” Vice President Biden said in a news release. “Safe, affordable, high-quality child care gives working parents the peace of mind they need to be stable, dependable employees.”
