HHS Offers $1 Billion in ARRA Funds for Health Information Technology
Washington, Aug. 21 – More than $1 billion in Recovery Act funding is being made available in two grant programs to create a nationwide electronic health information system and promote the use of health information technology.
The Health Information Technology Extension Program, CFDA No. 93.718, will fund approximately 70 regional centers and assist them in using electronic health records. The regional centers will be expected to help at least 100,000 primary care providers through the nonprofit organizations receiving funding from the grant program.
