Grants.gov Returns to Capacity After Upgrades

Washington, April 26 – The Grants.gov Web site is now able to handle all of the grants application functions for all agency grant programs.

After being slammed by the major increase in grant programs resulting from enactment of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Pub. L. 111-5, the Grants.gov site had numerous problems handling the increased activity. As a result, the Office of Management and Budget in March 2009, issued a memorandum temporarily allowing grantmaking agencies to use alternative methods to accept grant applications during “the Recovery Act’s expected peak period to reduce demand on Grants.gov’s limited resources.”
