DOE Offers Additional Guidance on Energy Efficiency Block Grants
Washington, May 15 — As part of an ongoing effort to help state and local governments navigate the application process for the new Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program, the Department of Energy is hosting a series of webcasts for prospective applicants to provide helpful suggestions and guidance on allowable projects. The topic of today’s webcast: developing the required “energy efficiency and conservation strategy” that all applicants must submit.
Featured speakers from today’s webcast included Eric Griffin, interim director of the Office of Environmental Quality in Dallas, Texas, and Wendy Barrott, director of Energy and Environmental Services for Fort Wayne, Ind. Each spoke briefly on their cities’ respective plans for the EECBG formula allocations they are slated to receive this summer.
