Congress Scrutinizes ARRA Reporting
Washington, Dec. 2 – While grantees and federal agencies continue to debrief after the first round of Recovery Act reporting and gear up for the next reporting deadline in January, a House oversight committee questioned the officials who set the rules for the reporting process and discussed improvements that might be implemented going forward.
Shortly before the Thanksgiving recess, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held a hearing to discuss recent allegations that some Recovery Act recipients filed inaccurate reports on the number of jobs they had created or saved, and to investigate improvements that could be implemented to mitigate those concerns in future reports. The witness list included Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board Chairman Earl Devaney and Government Accountability Office Acting Comptroller General Gene Dodaro.
