Broadband Application Deadline Extended Five Hours
Washington, March 24 – If you are filing an application for a share of the funding available under the Comprehensive Community Infrastructure Project component of the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program – you are getting a deadline extension. Applications are still due this Friday, March 26, but you now have until 10:00 p.m. EDT to electronically submit your application.
Officials at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration announced the extension today, saying that the “complexity of preparing an infrastructure application requires applicants to offer proposals that are truly comprehensive in scope” and that “applicants may need the full business day … to finalize their proposals.”
All other requirements for electronic submission remain unchanged.
In this second round of funding, agencies are competing for a total of $4.7 billion in stimulus money to expand broadband Internet access in underserved areas.
