$4 Billion in Recovery Grants Available to States for Broadband Expansion


Washington, July 5 – The Department of Agriculture and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration will begin accepting applications from state, local and tribal governments, as well as nonprofit organizations, for billions of dollars in broadband expansion grants beginning July 14.

Funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, USDA will accept applications for $2.4 billion in grants through its Broadband Initiatives Program, while NTIA will make $1.6 billion in grants available through its Broadband Technology Opportunities Program.
